FAQ
Questions about indoor air quality
Can’t find your question? Call the office and talk to someone who knows heating and cooling.
Which filter should I use?
A higher-rated pleated filter catches more particles, but your system has to handle the airflow. We’ll recommend the right rating for your equipment.
Do whole-home air cleaners work?
Matched to your system, they can reduce airborne particles considerably. We’ll explain realistic expectations before you buy.
What humidity is best indoors?
Generally between about 30% and 50%, and towards the lower end in very cold weather to avoid condensation.
Will duct cleaning help?
Sometimes, especially after renovations or where there’s visible contamination. We inspect first and only recommend it if it’s needed.
