FAQ

Questions about heating repair

Can’t find your question? Call the office and talk to someone who knows heating and cooling.

Why is my furnace blowing cold air?

The usual causes are a dirty filter, an ignition or flame-sensor fault, or the thermostat fan set to “on” instead of “auto”.

What should I do if I smell gas?

Leave your home immediately, don’t use switches or flames, and call your gas utility or emergency services from outside. Don’t go back in until it’s declared safe.

How often should a furnace be serviced?

Once a year, ideally before the heating season. Regular service catches small problems before they become breakdowns.

Is it safe to reset my furnace myself?

Resetting once is usually fine. If it keeps locking out, stop and call us: repeated lockouts point to a fault that needs diagnosing.
